Jerry Goldsmith Awards

Jerry Goldsmith Awards recognize the work of musicians who are getting started in the field of the audiovisual (film, television, advertising or other means) or that, despite having already a career, have not received the recognition deserved. In a first phase, participants bring their creations to be considered among the different categories offered on the award bases. A second phase selects finalists in each category and, ultimately, winners are announced in each of them in a ceremony that takes place within the framework of the Festival activities.

The competition is committed to make available a broad range of tools for promotion, being the prize in itself an example of the many vehicles were provided for that purpose. Additionally, the top award recipient is offered the opportunity to serve on the panel of young composers in the next edition of the Festival, giving it a new opportunity to show their latest works and, in time, be able to enjoy the active exchange of experiences with those figures already established in the world of film scoring that could attend the event.

Repercussion

Over the years, Jerry Goldsmith Awards have been consolidated on the international scene as a reference for the new generation of composers. So much so that, year after year, participation has increased exponentially from all over the world, especially countries in Europe and the Americas, but also from Asia and Oceania. In its various editions, sponsored by the presence and prestige of professional composers like John Debney, Bruce Broughton, Michael Giacchino, Patrick Doyle, and Bruno Coulais, as Honorary Presidents of the Festival, but also many others who have attended the ceremonies, the awards have helped launch the careers of several of its finalists and winners, such as Lucas Vidal, Arnau Bataller, Zeltia Montes, Marc Vaíllo, Zacarias M. De la Riva, Sergio de la Puente, Marc Helm, James Peterson or Aritz Villodas, to name just a few of the professionals that have benefited by being present in these awards.
